About David Rios, MD
Dr. David Rios earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara before returning to Arizona to begin his medical career. Passionate about advancing patient care through innovation, he discovered his interest in clinical research while supporting MASH and COVID-19 studies—an experience that inspired him to help expand access to new treatments and technologies.
As Director of Research at Arizona Women’s Research, Dr. Rios leads the day-to-day operations of the research program, strategic growth, and community outreach. His focus is simple: connect more women with innovative research opportunities while ensuring every patient receives compassionate, patient-centered care.
Dr. Rios believes women’s health deserves greater attention and continued investment.
“Women’s health deserves to be prioritized at every stage of life. Clinical research is helping us better understand conditions that were once overlooked or difficult to discuss. Every study brings us closer to improving lives and giving women more options for their health.”
Outside of work, Dr. Rios enjoys spending time with his family, taking his son to the park, watching movies, and working toward a family goal of visiting all 50 states and collecting a refrigerator magnet from each one.
